Aston Martin Vulcan Finally Gets Reviewed

We’ve been writing about the Aston Martin Vulcan for a few years now, but the one crucial thing we – and most others - were missing was a report on what exactly it is like to drive.
Thankfully, Top Gear Magazine have ridden to the rescue and taken this special edition, One-77-based car out for a spin. First, a few facts. The track-only car has 820BHP, only 24 were made and each costs £1.8 million. Inspired by the Vulcan bomber aircraft, the vehicle has a similarly stunning design and is truly aerodynamic – something proven by its incredible performance in the Top Gear review.
So, what did the magazine think? This should give you a flavour: “Downshifts shock the car, flames flash and lick about, the side pipes pop, rumble and crash, shift lights flash, gears whine, the V12 soars and shrieks – it’s a mashing, roaring mechanical melee. So yeah, just a bit special.” Top Gear were hugely impressed with the collossal power of the car, as well as its true motorsports feel - the Vulcan has huge sports seats, an F1-style steering wheel and some seriously nifty carbon brakes to name just a few features.
There's also a matter of the naturally aspirated V12 engine, which is, in their words: "ultra-responsive, wondrous, strident and sonically magnificent. It howls. Shrieks almost." Overall, it appears to deliver the full racing car experience, with demanding downforce, a tight grip on the track and a truly exhilarating feel. For the true driving connoisseur this should be on the list of 'must drive' cars - possibly in pride of place! Top Gear weren't just impressed by the performance, either: the car's exterior and interior came in for high praise too.
The car looks stunning, particularly from the back, and the reviewer was particularly surprised by the quality of the fit and finish: "I don’t know why that should surprise me quite so much, but the door closure is precise, the bonnet rises on gas struts, the precise feel and click of the paddles, the power of the aircon blower, the leather, toggle switches… the design and execution is stunning." Although we're sadly unlikely to ever actually drive one (we'll keep our fingers crossed though!) this excellent review gave us a great feel for the Vulcan and left us wanting more.
