Ferrari has brought together sportiness, elegance and on board comfort to produce a new V8 GT which they believe will capture and command its segment of the market. The name for the new sports car has been carefully chosen and is named after the popular port town of Portofino where its elegant and luxurious heritage reflects the cars core qualities.
This new drop-top sports car is incredibly versatile and powerful at the same time. Enthusiasts can drool at the uncompromising 600 cv sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. Practicality is not compromised and the car benefits from a retractable hard top, a spacious boot and generous cockpit space plus two rear seats suitable for short trips.
Modern production techniques have been well utilised resulting in a significant weight loss compared to the California T it replaces which results in a 40 cv improvement producing the iconic Ferrari roar which can only be fully appreciated with the hood down.
Additional improvements including new pistons and con-rods, new intake system design, one piece exhaust header and variable boost management all contribute to offer higher levels of acceleration and lower fuel consumption.
As with all Ferraris, design and aerodynamics are the attention of focus. This model is aggressive in its styling and comes with a two-box fastback configuration, the first seen in a coupe-convertible with retractable hard top. This helps retain a sportier silhouette which is dynamic, sleek and elegant.
Efficiency has been maximised by the Aerodynamics Department at Ferrari by introducing a large front radiator grille opening that stretches across the contoured nose. Innovative air intakes are beautifully integrated outside the edge of the headlights to vent into the front wheel arch and exits along the flank to reduce drag.
The tail lights are placed further apart which accentuates the sport appeal and cleverly conceals the rear volume housing the all new RHT which has a more lightweight design and can be raised or lowered at low speeds.
Ferrari designers also heavily focussed on driver and passenger comfort. Key focus is on the infotainment system with a 10.2” touchscreen display, new air-conditioning, new steering wheel, 18 way electrically adjustable seats and back rest design which allows more space up back. For those that believe the only way to drive a Ferrari is with the top down will also benefit from the new wind deflector which cuts air flow inside the cabin by 30% in addition to reducing aerodynamic noise.
