One of the Rarest Ferraris Ever Made Arrives in California

We have a fleet of beautiful Ferraris here at Sportcarhire, but even we still sometimes get jealous of other people’s collections!

One person we’re particularly envious of at present is the lucky California buyer who has just taken delivery of an F60 America – one of the rarest cars the marque has ever made. The owner took possession of the car, which was first launched in 2014, during the Cavallino Classic that took place in Palm Beach, Florida.

The car was created to celebrate Ferrari’s 60th anniversary in North America, and is based on the brilliant Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. The key difference in this model, however, is that it’s a soft top – and if you want to drive at more than 80 miles per hour (which you will do) then you have no choice but to put the roof down. Although this might get a little chilly, it does mean that you’re treated to the full glory of the car’s 6.3 litre V12 engine noise.

As Top Gear Magazine described it: “Treble espresso? Ice-cold shower? The Greatest Shoutings Of Jeremy Clarkson piped at 140 decibels? Whatever your preferred method of blowing out the cobwebs, of waking up to face the day, it’ll inevitably pale into insignificance beside this. This is the Ferrari F60 America, effectively the open-top version of the insane F12 and quite possibly the most invigorating wake-up call on Planet Earth.”

Only 10 F60 America cars were made, all exclusively for the US market. Although it’s based on the F12, this staggeringly pretty car has a few unique touches. The most obvious is the stunning blue and white livery, which sets of the contours of the car’s bespoke roadster body perfectly. Other body changes include slimmer headlights, redesigned taillights, a very noticeable diffuser and two large air extractors on the bonnet. Inside, meanwhile, the driver can relax into their red leather seat while the passenger sits in the black one next to them – it might sound like a game of chequers but the two-tone colour scheme really works.

If this all sounds tempting then we have some very bad news – despite a rumoured $2.5 million price tag, all ten of the models were sold almost instantly.

Excellence as standard....that’s our Marque of Distinction
