The hotly anticipated and first-ever BMW i8 Roadster made its world premiere at the Los Angeles Auto Show this month and is set to make its launch to market from May 2018. The two-seater sport car features electrically operated soft-top roof which adds a new sense of freedom to the already locally emission-free mobility and high-calibre performance of the BMW i8 sport car.
This impressive sport car has a desirable soft-top roof, which can be fully and automatically retracted quietly in just 16 seconds and at up to driving speeds of 31mph. When folded into a compact package, it creates an additional 100 litres of storage behind the seats, always handy with a convertible.
The BMW i8 Roadster has the same LifeDrive architecture found in the new BMW i8 Coupé, which features an aluminium chassis and carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) passenger cell which results in perfect weight balance, sustainability and exceptional sportiness.
Look out for the stunning Carpo interior trim which comes as standard for the BMW i8 Roadster and comprises of full-leather upholstery in Ivory White/Black. Optional extras include the Halo interior trim and the new Accaro interior trim with an Amido/E-Copper colour scheme.
The BMW i8 Roadster has a power output of 275 kW/374 hp all thanks to a system output which is produced by the electric motor and engine acting together. It can accelerate from 0 to 62mph in a jaw dropping 4.6 seconds and has a top speed of 155mph.
