BMW’s latest electric car - the 'i5' - has been confirmed
Potentially called the i5, BMW’s latest electric car is thought to be a four door crossover sedan that will feature design elements similar to the i3 and i8 cars. Although it’s not due to arrive until 2017 at the earliest, that hasn’t stopped the enterprising Theophilius Chin from rendering his own version of what the car might look like. We’ll just have to content ourselves with this until BMW confirm their design!
Macan GTS will be the most powerful car in the range Porsche have just unveiled their new 2017 Macan GTS, which will go on sale in March 2016. With a tweaked engine to produce more horsepower, re-engineered suspension and a unique look both inside and out, this is sure to appeal to Porsche fans who want to get the extra ounce of performance from their car. Buyers are advised to add the extra Sport Chrono package, which will push the 0-62MPH time to just 4.8 seconds.
The convertible Evoque is here Not content with making fabulous hard top cars, Land Rover have now produced the world’s first luxury convertible SUV. The Evoque was the model they chose for the chop and, true to form, Land Rover have come up with a thing of beauty: a convertible SUV that has lost none of its rigidity, ride quality or ability to conquer inhospitable terrain. The car has some really nifty features, including a fabric roof that folds in just 18 seconds, a wind deflector that fits over the back seats for when you have just two occupants, and a whole raft of new technology such as the InControl Touch Pro System. It’s already had rave reviews and we can’t wait to have a go for ourselves! The Levante is due to go into production Good news for ailing firm Maserati, their Crossover Utility Vehicle the Levante has been green-lighted for production. This means that they can hopefully turn around their sliding sales figures and tap into a new market – fingers crossed! The Levante is due to have a 3 litre V6 engine, and to arrive in dealerships around March next year.
The Dawn Rises at Goodwood Rolls Royce have just unveiled their latest car at a Goodwood Breakfast Club, where over 10,000 people got to see the new Dawn and chat with staff about its creation. Taking inspiration from the Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn dropheads of the 1940s and 1950s, the car has modern styling and promises the quietest convertible experience on the market – delivering on Rolls Royce’s famous ‘magic carpet ride’ promise. Although critics expected the Rolls Royce Dawn to simply be a convertible Wraith, the car actually has 80% new body panels, although it has stolen the 6.6 litre V12 from the Ghost. The car is due to go on sale next year, and will be priced at around £250,000.
