The world of supercars moves as fast as the vehicles themselves. Here’s what’s hit the news in the past week.
.First American-owned Aston Martin arrives in Cleveland If you're a fan of the extreme Aston Martin Vulcan, which is inspired by the bomber aircraft of the same name, then you need to watch this video of the car making its debut on the streets of Cleveland, see below. It's a rare chance to watch the Vulcan, as it's a super rare supercar - only 24 cars were made, and with a $2.3 million price tag they're not accessible for most! That car has a seven litre naturally aspirated V12 engine, which generates a whopping 800 horsepower, as well as a carbon fibre body that ensures it can weigh less than 1360kg. More here.
We'll see two Bentley sports cars next year Not only are Bentley building a sports version of their SUV Bentayga, which will build on the car's already impressive on-road performance, but they have also confirmed development of a new high performance two-seater sports car, which will be based on the popular Bentley EXP 10 Speed Six concept. Ultra modern in design, the car will have aircraft inspired bodywork and flowing lines that are accentuated with copper elements. Inside will be predictably luxurious, with quilted sports seats and a raft of technology. Both sports cars are due to make an appearance next year, and the EXP 10 Speed Six may even make an appearance at the Geneva Motor Show! More here.
One last dose of supercar action this Christmas The BBC is set to bring Jeremy Clarkson's Top Gear into our homes for one last Christmas, when it airs a two part programme that that showcases the best of the show's 13 years. Entitled "Top Gear: A-Z", the special episodes will count down 26 classic Top Gear moments, each one themed to a letter of the alphabet. The programme is narrated by comedian John Bishop and each letter will be introduced by a former Star in a Reasonably Priced Car. Next year, supercar fans will have the choice between sticking to Top Gear, now presented by Chris Evans, or stay loyal to Clarkson, Hammond and May by watching their new show on Amazon Prime.
Ferrari Tour de France is a Tour de Force Ferrari has released a very special edition of the Ferrari F12, the 'Tour De France' edition. Limited to 799 units, it references the endurance car race which was run between 1899 and 1986, which Ferrari dominated in the 1950s and 60s. With a boosted 6.3 litre V12 engine delivering 769 BHP, an altered gearbox and an enhanced exterior which is entirely focused on enhancing aerodynamics, the car is a serious rival to the Lamborghini Aventador SuperVeloce. The car should be able to do 0-62MPH in just 2.9 seconds, and is only 1.3 seconds slower than the LaFerrari around the marque's Fiorano track.
