Welcome to AMG Green Hell

Or Green Hell Magno, to be precise, a colour available on the newly unveiled Mercedes-Benz AMG GT R. This unusually named hue is inspired by the Nurburgring, which is fitting as the car is rumoured to be able to lap the infamous circuit in under 7 minutes 20 seconds.
The car is the third member of the AMG family, and it makes a substantial leap in terms of power and performance. Although the engine is very similar to the four litre twin turbo V8 that comes with the standard AMG GT S, the turbos have been engineered to give faster responses and produce more power - 74bhp more than the AMG GTS, to be precise.
This means that it now boasts 577bhp overall, significantly more than the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Combine this with a seven speed automatic transmission that's been optimised for the track, and a weight of just 1,555kg, and it's no wonder that it'll do 0-60 in just 3.6 seconds, or that it has a top speed of 197 mph. It has all the aerodynamic,if features, too, from the wide front splitter and air curtains to special louvres around the front end, which open and close in order to optimise airflow around the car. At the back a double diffuser and rear wing complete the aerodynamic picture, which overall adds an extra 155 kilogrammes of ‘weight’ when running at top speed. If Nurburgring beating performance and oodles of power are your thing, the GT R goes on sale this November, and is expected to cost around £130000.
